Performance Projects

MB ADAPTORS is in the midst of an action-packed, international project that merges the company’s core ensemble with Catalan artists from LA CALBA Teatre and the Barcelona arts community. The project is creatively constructed in phases to allow for the in-depth research and attention to detail the company is known for. Developed at the company’s studio in Highland Lake, NY, Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, and in Barcelona, the project will have multiple work-in-progress showings and opportunities for interaction and collaboration with all artists involved.

Entitled HEADSHOT, the production explores the human desire to win and be chosen, even if we don’t know what we are winning or why. Characters, caught in a surrealistic audition hall with many doors but no clear entrance or exit, seek approval from unknown judges. Reshaping themselves to fit what they believe others desire at the moment, they will find in the end, they’ve been seeking a role in the most important play of all -- life.

Scheduled Work-in-Progress Showings: November 14, 15, 16, 2014 Viterbo University, La Crosse, WI

December 12, 2014 Institut del Teatre, Barcelona

April 10th, 11th, 2015 Institut del Teatre, Barcelona

Fully produced performances are presently being sought in both Europe and the U.S.A.

2012 saw the world premiere of PULLING STRINGS!
PULLING STRINGS unfolds in a series of 25 morphing dream sequences, each reflecting on how assumptions, stereotypes and our desire to mold one another and ourselves into a vision of perfection, often comes at the cost of losing some of our humanity. The characters who inhabit the PULLING STRINGS dreamscape are like human puppets, compelled at times as if by invisible strings. In a realm where even the puppeteers seem puppeted, one has to wonder who is really manipulating who -- and to what end?

PULLING STRINGS received standing ovations with audiences at the NACL Theatre in Highland Lake, NY, The Orange Hall Theatre in Middletown, NY, and at Rhode Island College.

• Our production IN SEARCH OF TONTO BLUE received great audience and critical response including a “Best 10 of 2010” in the Howard County Times. The production was in the company of Bill T. Jones and the Boshoi Ballet among other notable artists.

• IN SEARCH OF TONTO BLUE toured to 7 Stages, Atlanta, Illusion Theatre, Minneapolis, Tusten Theatre, New York and The Baltimore Theatre Project.

• The Company received a major Operating Grant from the McKnight Foundation.

• We are collaborating with Mopics Inc. and filmmaker Dan Polsfuss on the creation of a IN SEARCH OF TONTO BLUE feature film.

• The ensemble is hard at work in the studio researching and developing new groundbreaking theatre. Work-in-progress showings are being set for November.
